Toronto (Canada) – Rahat Godil joins Fasken as a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in the Toronto office.
Rahat has a diverse practice with a focus on complex commercial and contractual disputes. She has represented a range of clients in commercial litigation matters, including joint venture and shareholder disputes, and has significant expertise in domestic and international arbitration. Her experience also includes class actions defence, securities-related litigation and constitutional litigation and she is regularly involved in complex motions, including injunctions, jurisdiction challenges and summary judgement motions.
Rahat has acted for clients in many industries including natural resources, mining, energy, banking, financial services, telecommunications, automotive, insurance, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.
Rahat has appeared at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal. She has also appeared before institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals, including arbitrators appointed by the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, as well as before administrative tribunals.
