Peter Pliszka, a senior partner in Fasken’s Litigation Group, is regarded as one of Canada’s leading litigation lawyers. Peter’s practice is focused primarily on product liability, class action, commercial and insurance litigation matters, and it is national in scope. Peter Pliszka is Co-Leader of Fasken’s Life Sciences Group and the National Chair of the firm’s Product Liability and Insurance Practice Groups. One of Canada’s most highly regarded lending lawyers, John Torrey has a practice focused exclusively on lending transactions. He acts on behalf of both borrowers and lenders and has extensive experience with a broad range of financings in a broad range of industries.
John Turner is Leader of the firm’s Global Mining Group and Chair of the Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions Group. His practice is focused in the resource sector, where he has been involved in many leading corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions deals. One of Canada's national newspapers, the Financial Post, has described John as "one of the best dirt lawyers in Canada, if not the world." Recognized by Chambers Global, John also received Lexpert’s “Zenith Award” for his extensive mining law expertise.

Only those listed practitioners who obtained the highest number of nominations from peers, corporate counsel and other market sources in their practice area are selected. Entry into WWL guides, is, of itself, no easy feat, with fewer than half of those nominated obtaining a listing. The bar to be considered a Global Elite Thought Leader is even higher. Typically no more than five per cent of practitioners in any WWL global practice area guide are selected as Global Elite Thought Leaders.
