“Health law lawyers advising clients on legal requirements arising from virtual care, AI, big data,” by Aidan Macnab, Lexpert

Toronto lawyers Sophie MacRae and Heather Whiteside comment on the legal requirements arising from the growth in virtual care, and the increasing use of AI and big data by health professionals in an article published in Lexpert.

“The location of registration is a significant matter that our clients will have to consider if they’re expanding their virtual businesses across Canadian jurisdictions,” said lawyer Sophie MacRae.

“Based on weather patterns and historical ER visits, health professionals can assess how many people that they expect to walk into their ER on any given day. That has huge impacts on the delivery of care,” said lawyer Heather Whiteside.
