Nicola (Nicky) Young is an articling student in the firm's Toronto office.
Nicky completed her JD/MBA degree at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and the Rotman School of Management, where she was recognized as a Bregman Scholar for graduating in the top 10% of her MBA class. Prior to law school, Nicky completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Brown University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was nominated to the economics honour society Omicron Delta Epsilon. As a JD/MBA student, Nicky served as a volunteer for Law in Action Within Schools, as a teaching assistant for MBA courses in venture capital strategy and international economics, and as a JD/MBA Fellow at the Capital Markets Institute. After completing her undergraduate degree, Nicky worked as a middle school math teacher. She spent her recent summers working on international human rights research projects and advising start-ups at a seed-stage incubator. In her spare time, Nicky enjoys coffee shops, reading novels, traveling, and trying new fitness classes.
Nicky participated in the Firm’s Summer Secondment Program in 2023, and was seconded to Fairstone Bank of Canada and its affiliates.
