Palesa Mpe is a partner in the Competition Team in Johannesburg. She advises local and international companies on all aspects of competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, prohibited practices, market inquiries as well as competition compliance.
Her experience includes guiding firms through complex merger approval processes in South Africa and elsewhere in Africa. She has worked on transactions in numerous markets such as mining, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, packaging and financial services.
She advises clients in various industries during conduct investigations by the Competition Commission and litigated cartel cases before the Competition Tribunal and the Competition Appeal Court.
Palesa advises clients in market inquiries by the Competition Commission, including inquiries into online intermediation platforms, media and digital platforms, and fresh produce.
