On May 1, 2006, Transat A.T. Inc., one of the world's largest integrated tourism companies, announced that it had finalized its acquisition of the Canadian travel agency network of Thomas Cook Travel Limited. This acquisition makes Transat A.T. Canada's largest travel agency with nearly 430 outlets. The transaction involves 190 travel agencies operating under the Thomas Cook and Marlin Travel banners, as well as 22 foreign exchange offices, 19 of them located in the travel agencies.
Louis Séguin, Mark Paterson, Alain Ranger and Jean-François Perreault of Fasken Martineau's Montréal office, and Stephen Kerr, Sean Morley and Kathleen Yoa of Toronto advised Transat A.T. on this transaction.
