On September 13, 2006, Air Canada and ITA Software announced that they had signed an agreement to develop, implement and host a new reservation management system for the airline. The ITA Software reservation system will include reservations, inventory control and seat availability, and check-in and airport operations modules. This system will support Air Canada's innovative products, services and business process simplification, and will more effectively support initiatives focused on customer experience. The solution will start to be deployed in early 2007 with completion scheduled for early 2008 across the entire Air Canada network, including reservation call centers and airport locations world wide. The reservation system will be delivered as an application hosted by ITA Software and will simultaneously support the airline's ongoing participation in the Star Alliance. Air Canada Senior Counsel David Perez managed the transaction, working in close collaboration with John Beardwood of Fasken Martineau who was supported by Lisa Abe, Ian Kyer, Andrew Nunes, Andrew Alleyne and Jason Kee. ITA was represented by their Vice-President and General Counsel, David Sandberg.
