On March 18, 2008, Campbell Soup Co. sold its Godiva Chocolatier business for US$850 million to Yildiz Holding A.S. Yildiz, a public company, is the owner of the Ulker Group, a diversified food company based in Istanbul, Turkey.
Yildiz was advised on Canadian aspects of this transaction by a team from Fasken Martineau led by Stephen Erlichman, and including, among others, Martin Fisher-Haydis (corporate), Ralph Nero and Alix Herber (employment), Ross Gascho (pensions), Neil Smiley and Dugan Edmison (real estate), Ronald Nobrega (tax), Huy Do (competition), Mark Penner and Elizabeth Gouthro (intellectual property) and Jon Holmstrom and David Ferris (banking).
