CGI divests Canadian business processing unit to The Shumka Group

On August 6, 2008, CGI Group Inc. sold a Canadian business processing unit providing claims adjusting and risk management services to the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry. The business was sold to privately-held The Shumka Group. CGI is one of the largest independent information technology and business process services firms in the world. CGI was advised in this transaction by a team from Fasken Martineau including Jean-René Gauthier, Robert Paré, Alain Ranger, Jean-Philippe Mikus, Louis-Martin Dubé, Julie Cuddihy, Diane Bertrand, Patricia Gagnon, Nicolas LebLanc, Jean-Michel Lapierre and Étienne Gadbois.
