La Mancha Resources Inc. (La Mancha) announced that it has entered into an agreement with Weather Investments II S.a.r.l., pursuant to which Weather Investments II agreed to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of La Mancha by way of a recommended take-over bid at a price of $3.50 per common share, equivalent to a total purchase price of approximately $500 million.
La Mancha is a TSX-listed international gold producer based in Canada with operations, development projects and exploration activities in Africa, Australia and Argentina. Weather Investments II is founded by Mr. Naguib Sawiris. The Sawiris family of Egypt has substantial operations in the telecommunication, construction and fertilizer, cement, real estate and hotel development industries.
