The project was procured pursuant to the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme initiated by the Department of Energy. The project was a green field project, comprising of a cluster of up to 47 wind turbines (described as a wind energy facility) of 2 MW each, to be constructed in the Western Cape province of South Africa. This facility will have a maximum capacity of 94 MW. Fasken Martineau advised lenders in respect of financing of the project with a team that included Lara Bezuidenhoudt, David Manny, Ashen Jugoo, John Janks, Jamie MacDonald, Matthew Burnell, Katy Kay and Tamsyn Zulch.
