Fasken Martineau counselled the African Development Bank as part of the negotiation and drafting of the memorandum of understanding respecting the transmission of electricity between Tanzania and Burundi contemplating the transmission of power generated by the Rusomo Falls hydroelectric plant.
As part of this project, Fasken Martineau drafted the agreement and managed negotiations between the representatives of the energy departments of Tanzania and Burundi, the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), the Régie de production et de distribution d’eau et d’Électricité (REGIDESO), and the Nile Equatorial Lakes Subsidiary Action Program (NELSAP).
The Fasken Martineau team was led by André Turmel and included Sylvie Bourdeau, Delphine Pittet and Pierre Trudelle.
