The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has approved Rogers Media Inc.’s acquisition of a radio broadcasting ownership group, Lamers Holdings Inc., which owns two English-language, commercial FM radio stations in southern Ontario. The transaction was valued by the CRTC at $4.2 million. The CRTC was satisfied that the transaction met all regulatory requirements and would be in the public interest and have a positive impact on the communities served by the radio stations. Fasken Martineau Partner Scott Prescott and Associate Yael Wexler advised Rogers Media Inc. on broadcasting regulatory law in this transaction.
