On January 1, 2018, Deschênes Group Inc. completed the acquisition of Corix Water Products, a division of Corix Infrastructure Inc. On October 26, 2017, it was announced that an agreement regarding the acquisition had been signed.
Deschênes Group Inc. is a leading wholesale distributor to the plumbing and heating, electrical, waterworks, fire protection, HVAC/R and auto parts markets. Founded in 1940, the company is based in Montréal and operates 134 points of sale across Canada. The company acquired, Corix Water Products, distributes products for waterworks, wastewater and irrigation systems in its sales outlets in Canada and the United States.
This acquisition is in line with the Deschênes Group Inc.’s strategy to further develop its growth throughout Canada, and will allow it to increase its offer of products and services, expand its geographic area, enter the US market and strengthen the company’s buying power.
Fasken advised Deschênes Group Inc. in connection with the agreement and acquisition, with a team led by Jean-Sébastien Dugas that included Constantinos Ragas, Kiran Singh and Jonathan Raizenne.
