On December 1, 2018, Gallagher Benefit Services (Canada) Group Inc., a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG), completed the acquisition of HFG Benefits Consulting Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary HFG Benefits Corp. (“HFG Benefits”). The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HFG Benefits group and individual life, accident and sickness insurance to clients throughout Alberta. AJG, an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, has operations in 34 countries, and offers client service capabilities in more than 150 countries around the world through a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
Fasken advised AJG on the acquisition of HFG Benefits with a team that included Julia Kennedy, Wojtek Baraniak, Yufei Luo and Brendan Sawatsky.
