On December 22, 2018 Trimac Transportation Services Inc. (“Trimac”), a trucking, maintenance and rail transloading company, entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire Bessette & Boudreau Inc. and Bess Tank Lines Ltd., transportation companies with deep roots in Quebec and Alberta. The transaction closed on February 8, 2019. Fasken advised Trimac on this transaction with a team that included Alex Nikolic, Corum Van Esch, and Zach Austin (corporate / M&A), John Elias and Gabrielle Motuz (banking) and Mitchell Thaw (tax).
