In January 2021, Fasken acted for Forum/SLP 112 Nelson Limited Partnership (the “Purchaser”) in respect of its acquisition from MNP Ltd. of the property municipally known as 112 Nelson Street, Ottawa and the financing of the acquisition with Vancity Community Investment Bank. This was a complex transaction involving the termination of Carleton Condominium Corporation No. 396 pursuant to Section 128 of the Condominium Act, 1998, S.O. 1998, Chapter 19 (the “Act”) (only the second such condominium termination to occur in Ontario pursuant to Section 128 of the Act) and creation of a new freehold parcel for the property with title vested in the Purchaser pursuant to an Approval and Vesting Order.
