On June 16, 2022, Student Transportation of America, Inc. (“STA”), through a Canadian SPV, completed its acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of Pacific Western Transportation Ltd. (“PWT”). The acquisition added more than 5,000 employees to the STA family of companies and 4,100 vehicles to its fleet, including 950 alternative fuels and electric buses.
STA is North America’s third largest provider of school bus transportation services, operating more than 16,000 vehicles throughout the US and Canada. STA is owned by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Ullico Inc., both of whom reinvested in the company to support its growth through the acquisition strategy.
PWT is Canada’s largest privately owned transportation company, providing school bus, employee, transit and coach transportation services to customers throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Yukon through its subsidiary companies, including Red Arrow, Southland Transportation, Century Transportation and Diversified Transportation BC.
