Fasken represented Airbus Helicopters (France), Airbus Helicopters Inc. (U.S.) and Airbus Helicopters Canada Inc. (collectively "Airbus Helicopters") in a commercial dispute where the plaintiff was seeking in excess of C$100 million arising from the grounding of certain models of Airbus Helicopters by various international aviation authorities and recovery of certain alleged financial losses arising from those groundings. The claim was pursued by a financial services firm that provided financing by way of various sale/leaseback transactions to a global helicopter operator, which largely serviced offshore petroleum drilling sites.
A team led by Paul Martin and Vera Toppings and including Robin Roddey and Chris Casher represented Airbus Helicopters in connection with this international proceeding.
