Fasken advised Capital Norea Inc. in the launch of its second private equity fund, Capital Norea II, L.P., including the establishment of a feeder fund. This second fund's objective is to enable entrepreneurs operating Canadian businesses in all sectors of the economy and at various stages of development, to realize their succession, growth and acquisition projects, digital transformation and energy transition. With an initial capitalization of C$300 million as well as an institutional investor base (Groupe Familles d’Affaires Invest L.P., Investissement Québec and National Bank of Canada), the fund aims to fill the gap in the Canadian mid-market private equity space by deploying its capital in medium-sized private companies.
Fasken also advised Capital Norea Inc. in its creation as well as in the acquisitions of National Bank SME Growth Fund, L.P. (now renamed Capital Norea I, L.P.) and Unimax Co-Investment L.P. , both of which are now being managed by Capital Norea Inc.
