FortisBC Energy Inc., the largest gas distribution utility in the province, applied for and received from the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the Pattullo Gas Line Replacement Project.
The project consisted of a new gas pipeline to replace the pipeline attached to the Pattullo Bridge, to be demolished and replaced by the province.
Following extensive public regulatory processes, the BCUC granted a CPCN for the project on June 30, 2024.
Chris Bystrom (Energy) and Niall Rand (Energy) acted as lead counsel for FortisBC providing full regulatory support.
