Provided a medical equipment manufacturer with assistance regarding an export permit application, including Excol registration, guidance on documentation to include, legal analysis to determine the export control status of components, assessment of possible medical exemption, and communications with government officials. Fasken was able to obtain a rare medical exemption for the company, enabling the export of its novel and important technology used to unblock clogged human arteries. As the default position of Canadian regulators is to deny the export of sensitive technologies to China, this was a notable exception.
