On December 6, 2002, Kerry (Canada) Inc., a subsidiary of global food company Kerry Group plc, acquired the business of Metarom Canada Inc. by way of an asset purchase transaction.
As a result of the transaction, Kerry Canada is now one of Canada's leading manufacturers of aromas and flavourings.
Kerry Canada's legal team was led by its U.S. General Counsel, Bill Coole, with outside counsel from Fasken Martineau, with a team led by Gary Fogler and Michel Boislard which included Bill Chinkiwsky, Yvette Siegelberg, Lori Seidman and Isabelle Durand (corporate), Dominique Monet (employment), Marie-Josée Roux-Fauteux (real estate), Mitchell Thaw and Claude Auger (tax), Rosalind Cooper (environmental), May Cheng (IP) and Angela Di Padova (competition and Investment Canada).
