Overview

Fasken’s environmental lawyers are experienced across the waste management and regulation sector.  We work with product stewardship organizations and with producers to manage commercial issues, reporting and compliance.  And we work with transportation, treatment and disposal companies on compliance plans and to respond to spills or unauthorized releases

We’ll help you decipher regulations regarding generation, storage, treatment, transport, recycling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste by analyzing governmental policies, strategies and programs and bringing your environmental compliance assessment up to date. We also assist with environmental emergency measures such as accident prevention policies aimed at reducing risk.

Our clients include commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and natural resource operators such as mines, power producers, oil and gas corporations, chemical companies and agricultural concerns. The issues we address often range from compliance to recovery programs, establishment of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and e-waste recycling programs, production of biomass energy and effluent quality management requirements.

We also assist clients in meeting ISO 14001 certification.
