Vaschel has been actively involved in ground-breaking projects and finance deals within the renewable energy sector. She has gained practical experience in assisting the team with transactional matters, including conducting due diligence exercises, drafting financing agreements, and advising clients on regulatory compliance. Through her involvement in renewable energy projects, Vaschel has developed a broad understanding of the legal complexities surrounding project development, financing, and stakeholder management.
Vaschel has continued to develop her practical and theoretical skills of the South African legal system and has a comprehensive understanding of legal processes and procedures. She has been exposed to the intricacies of legal practice, including attending court proceedings, conducting client interviews, and assisting with the preparation of legal arguments.
During her rotation in the Corporate and Commercial practice group, she has gained experience in general Corporate Commercial matters with a growing expertise in corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, competition law, insolvency law, and finance and banking.
Experience
- Assisting the team on drafting inter alia opinions, board resolutions and letters to client.
- Assisting the team with drafting commercial agreements (e.g. option agreements, waivers and share transfer agreements).
- Assisting the team in a full range of competition law matters, from mergers (notifications and representing intervening parties) to complaints, Dawn Raids and other litigious proceedings, as well as advice on Competition Law compliance.
- Assisting the team with case preparation, research, and drafting submissions.
- Assisting with project management and closing of major renewable energy deals.
