Alexis Shamess is an associate in Fasken’s Business law group. She maintains a broad corporate/commercial practice and represents both private and public sector clients. Her experience covers a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, go-public transactions, as well as private and public financings.
Alexis completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she completed a Master of Arts in Political Science (co-op program) at the University of Waterloo.
Alexis’ past work experience includes working for a business law firm in Melbourne, Australia. She also worked as a policy analyst for the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Alexis interned with Fasken’s Antitrust/Competition & Marketing Group during the summer of 2018. She then summered and articled with the Firm and was seconded to the Fasken London, UK office. Alexis joined the Firm as an associate in 2021.
