Annick Gilbert acts as counsel within the Corporate/Commercial Law group at the Québec City office. She has developed specific expertise with non-profit organizations and registered charities under tax legislation, including congregations, religious corporations, private educational institutions, foundations and trusts.
She has extensive experience in incorporation and governance of non-profit organizations, registration of charities with tax authorities, rules governing charities as well as corporate reorganizations and mergers of non-profit organizations.
In addition to the corporate law applicable to non-profit organizations and charities, Annick advises those clients, in keeping with their very specific nature, in all of the other areas of law that concern them, including municipal taxation, real estate law, labour law and drafting contracts of all types (service contracts, management contracts, asset disposition contracts, etc.).
She has been very involved in this sector of non-profit organizations and charities for several years and, more specifically, in the sector of religious congregations and related corporations, particularly as a board member.
