Charles Chevrette is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial group in our Montréal office. With nearly thirty years of experience, Charles has extensive experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital.
Over the years, Charles has been called upon to advise a wide range of private and public institutional investors on mergers and acquisitions or corporate financing and acquisitions, particularly in the technology sectors and in cross-border transactions. He represents not only investment firms in their transactions in Québec and Canada and in their foreign investments, but also foreign companies investing in Canada as well as emerging companies.
Charles’ knowledge is also in demand in the areas of agribusiness, financial services and government relations. Moreover, his experience has been repeatedly recognized by many prestigious legal directories, including Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert and the Canadian Legal Expert Directory, all of which have named him as a leading lawyer in the areas of commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law—medium-sized companies, technology law and private equity.
A member of the Bar since 1993, Mr. Chevrette regularly publishes articles on Québec and Canadian commercial law.
Prior to joining Fasken, Charles practised as a partner in a major international business law firm and founded an investment company. He also has extensive experience in Québec politics, having served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Official Opposition in the House of Commons and to the Premier of Québec.
