Overview

Daphnée Legault is a lawyer with the Labour, Employment and Human Rights group in our Montréal office. Daphnée joined the Fasken team as a student in 2020. As part of her practice, she advises clients on various aspects of labour and employment law, involving employee or labour relations. She provides legal advice for matters such as hiring, termination of employment, labour standards and workplace harassment.

A portion of Daphnée’s practice is also devoted to human rights and freedoms issues. She has a Master of Laws degree focusing on the right to equality and non-discrimination, which has allowed her to specialize and gain in-depth experience in issues involving weight-based discrimination. Issues involving weight stigmatization and discrimination are of particular interest to Daphnée, who has been asked to lecture on the topic and to act as a consultant to various professionals and organizations. Daphnée has been a member of the board of directors of ÉquiLibre since 2023. ÉquiLibre is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote the development of a positive body image in individuals and to create environments that are inclusive and accepting of body diversity.
