David Pak is an associate in the firm’s Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions group, where he advises clients on corporate finance transactions, public and private acquisitions and dispositions, securities regulatory requirements, continuous disclosure obligations, corporate governance and commercial matters.
David was seconded to IAMGOLD Corporation, a gold producer operating in North America and West Africa, where he acted on corporate and commercial transactions, continuous disclosure matters, and reporting obligations under Canada’s Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act. Before joining Fasken as an associate in 2021, he gained valuable experience at a securities law firm in Toronto. Throughout his career, David has been actively involved in volunteer work with organizations such as Pro Bono Ontario, The Law Society Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity.
David graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he was a division leader for the Osgoode Community & Legal Aid Services Program, assisting low-income clients with administrative law matters. Additionally, he served as a research assistant to a leading insolvency law professor. Prior to pursuing law, David worked as a microbiologist for the federal government, showcasing his diverse skill set and adaptability.
Outside of his practice, David enjoys travel, high-altitude trekking, scuba diving, yoga, football, golf, and cooking – a reflection of his adventurous nature and commitment to personal growth.
