Overview

With the introduction of Health Canada’s Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR), those that wish to possess, produce and sell or distribute medical marihuana must be licensed and adhere to strict regulations. These new rules will impact not only licensees, but also clinics, doctors and other health professionals and their patients, as well as investors. Since the coming into force of the MMPR on April 1, 2014, hundreds of licence applications have been made, many of which have given rise to unique challenges.

Our panel of experts will focus its presentations on the application process, issues that may arise in connection with undertaking this licensed business and financing such business operations.

The session will be moderated by Barbara Miller, Partner, Fasken Martineau and Gilbert Sharpe, Partner, Fasken Martineau
