Guest Speaker: Mike Stewart, CIBC
Given the recent decline in commodity prices, many mining companies have found that their cash resources are limited or dwindling.
The purpose of this seminar is to consider restructuring alternatives for mining companies. In particular, this seminar will discuss various restructuring alternatives in the way of financing and M&A transactions that may be considered by mining companies, whether exploration/development stage or producing issuers. In the absence of the availability of more traditional structuring alternatives or in situations of limited cash availability, the seminar will also consider methods for seeking to compromise debts owed to creditors, including strategy considerations for dealing with creditors.
Integral to this discussion will be considerations of timelines and the period through which a mining company will be able to sustain its operations based on available and incoming cash resources, and the role of professional advisors in assisting with such restructuring alternatives.
