In this session, we review recent changes to immigration laws and procedures impacting employers who currently employ - or who wish to employ - foreign nationals. These changes affect various groups of individuals, including international students transitioning to a post-graduation work permit, foreign workers already in Canada looking to change employers, and foreign workers wishing to apply for permanent residence. The importance of employer compliance and how remote work arrangements may affect immigration compliance will also be addressed.
We will lead an informative discussion on different topic, including the following:
- Recent federal and provincial immigration updates
- Changes to immigration processing
- Use of temporary public policies to address particular immigration issues
- Employer immigration compliance
- Updates to COVID-19 travel requirements
