On March 31, 2023, Bill 78, An Act mainly to improve corporate transparency of enterprises (“Bill 78”), will come into force.
Bill 78 significantly modifies the obligations of enterprises by creating the obligation to declare information about the ultimate beneficiaries and natural persons of their enterprise to the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (“REQ”), in addition to making it possible to search the enterprise register using a natural person’s name. As part of this seminar, a panel of corporate lawyers will provide an overview of the amendments made to the Act respecting the legal publicity of enterprises by Bill 78 and a detailed analysis of the new concept of “ultimate beneficiary.” This conference will provide you with an overview of Québec’s new corporate transparency rules and will show you how to identify the ultimate beneficiaries of your company.
