Jonathan Duforest is an associate in the firm's Capital Markets and M&A group and maintains a diverse corporate/commercial and securities law practice. He advises public and private clients on a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance matters.
Jonathan graduated cum laude from the Dual Juris Doctor Program at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During his time in law school, Jonathan served as a judicial extern for Judge Linda Parker in the Eastern District of Michigan and as a Teaching Assistant for the Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Clinic. Prior to law school, Jonathan completed a Bachelor of Education from McGill University where he graduated on the Principal Student-Athlete Honour Roll. During his time at McGill, Jonathan was a member of the men’s varsity baseball team and contributed to winning three national championships. Jonathan is also a former member of the French National Baseball Team where he competed in several international competitions including the 2019 Olympic Qualifiers and the 2016 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and taking his dog on long walks.
Jonathan summered and articled with the firm. As a summer student, Jonathan was seconded to the Canadian Olympic Committee.
