Maria Holder is an experienced real estate partner who advises clients on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on complex acquisitions and dispositions, joint-ventures and financings. With 18 years of practicing in this space, she is focused on the business objectives of clients and is sought out for her experience and her practical advice.
Maria acts on behalf of several of the largest real estate investors and developers in Canada, which includes pension funds, pension fund managers, institutional investors, private real estate developers, public hospitals and colleges, and Crown corporations. She regularly handles sophisticated real estate transactions relating to the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of office buildings, commercial portfolios, shopping centres and industrial sites, through various vehicles, including joint ventures, co-ownerships and limited partnerships. She also has extensive experience representing borrowers and lenders in large-scale asset-based lending transactions and is skilled at handling all aspects of take-out, acquisition and construction financings.
Maria’s focus also extends to construction law. In her construction law practice, Maria provides clients with advice and assistance with the drafting of construction contracts (primarily for owners) in connection with large development projects, as well as contracts with architects, engineers and other consultants.
