Ottawa partner Clifford Sosnow comments on the issues raised by a potential freeze on energy exports to the U.S. in an article published by The Canadian Press.
He notably comments on the federal government’s power to override provincial opposition to this measure.
“For example, you could have a Canadian supplier in Alberta wanting to supply petroleum to a U.S. buyer, and as part of that contract — to make it a realizable contract — the Canadian supplier would need to make an application for a permit to the Canadian government,” said partner Clifford Sosnow.
