On March 5, 2007 Exceldor announced the acquisition of Grenville Poultry, confirming Exceldor's leadership in the marketing of fresh poultry in Canada.
Grenville Poultry employs about 250 people at its Grenville facility, located in the Laurentides region, where some 400,000 chickens are processed on a weekly basis. This acquisition allows Exceldor to increase its production by 40%, which will enhance its competitive position in the Québec and Canadian markets.
Exceldor, headquartered in Lévis, Québec is a cooperative specializing in the processing and marketing of fresh poultry. The organization employs 950 people and processes about 1.4 million chickens weekly out of its plants in Saint-Anselme, Saint-Damase and Grenville with total annual sales in excess of $350 million.
