On May 31, 2016, Justice Diamond of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice ruled in favour of the National Bank of Canada in the case of Joshi v National Bank of Canada, 2016, ONSC 3510 (PDF), striking out the plaintiff’s claim for international interference with economic relations and ordering particulars in respect of other allegations in the claim. In a subsequent ruling on July 4, 2016, Joshi v National Bank of Canada, 2016 ONSC 4394 (PDF), Justice Diamond awarded the National Bank its costs of the motion in an all-inclusive amount of C$8,000.00.
