Fasken Martineau was retained by the Ontario College of Pharmacists to advise on a substantial re-drafting of its General Regulation, O. Reg. 264/16 under the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act. The mandate included significant changes to reflect the College’s expanded regulatory authority over hospital pharmacies and to replace existing prescriptive regulatory language with clear, modern and outcome-focused language and requirements. The re-drafting process largely took place from late 2014 to early 2015. Public consultations on the new regulations occurred in mid-2015. The new regulations received Ministry approval and were proclaimed in force as of August 1, 2016. The team was comprised of David Rosenbaum, Kathryn Beck and Kim Potter.
