Fasken Martineau successfully defended the interests of Les Entreprises Sapiar Ltée against the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion in an expropriation proceeding. After filing a motion aiming to force the City to expropriate the entire site of a school bus transportation business that was targeted by an expropriation under section 65 of the Expropriation Act, the City ultimately decided to discontinue its expropriation proceedings. An action for damages for costs incurred by Les Entreprises Sapiar Ltée was instituted against the City following the discontinuance. The team was composed of Nikolas Blanchette and Marcelo Ciecha.
