MTY Food Group acquires Giorgio Ristorante and Le Steak Frites Franchises

As part of its restructuring process under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Restaurants Giorgio (Amérique) Ltée closed the sale of its franchise agreements (Giorgio Ristorante and Steak Frites Restaurants) to a wholly owned subsidiary of MTY Food Group Inc. (“MTY”) on May 8, 2017. Fasken represented MTY, a publicly traded company listed on the TSX under the “MTY” symbol, one of Canada’s largest franchiser in the restaurant industry, with restaurants in more than 5,500 locations across Canada and in the USA, operating under forty-one (41) different banners, with a market cap exceeding $1B. Fasken’s team was comprised of Luc Morin and Nicolas Mancini.
