Fasken was retained by a major pharmaceutical manufacturer to advise on a novel e-commerce platform for the distribution of non-prescription drugs and natural health products.
Fasken provided a comprehensive analysis of the legal landscape across Canada in order to inform the development of the e-commerce platform, including, the main principles related to selling drugs (drug distribution and dispensing, pharmacovigilance, advertising, etc.) as well as those that apply generally to the practical implementation of an e-commerce platform (intellectual property, consumer protection, privacy and data protection, anti-spam, etc.).
