Zijin Mining, Jin Cheng Mining and Cominiere

Jin Cheng Mining, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, and Cominiere, a state-owned enterprise of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), are involved in a series of international arbitration disputes against Australian-based public company, AVZ Minerals. The cases are before the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) arbitral body in Paris. The disputes involve one of the largest lithium deposits in the world and claims have been made worth hundreds of millions of dollars.[1]

Fasken represents Jin Cheng Mining, Zijin Mining and Cominiere with a team led by Peter Mantas, including Alexandra Logvin, Michael Boehm, Nabila Abdul Malik, Gabrielle Cyr, Julien Frigon, Lucas Métral and Tina Sun (Articling Student). The team is supported by external legal counsel in Paris, Kinshasa and Lubumbashi.
