Overview

This conference and documentation are only available in french.

An economic downturn sometimes forces an employer to make difficult decisions to reduce its payroll, which can affect both employed foreign workers and foreign nationals having received a job offer.

Employers must nevertheless ensure that they meet their contractual and legal obligations under both employment and immigration law.

This presentation will answer frequently asked questions by employers:

  1. What happens if I need to rescind a job offer made to a candidate before their arrival in Canada?
  2. Should I favour foreign workers with closed work permits during my layoff procedure?
  3. Am I required to renew the work permits of foreign nationals under my employment?

Our speakers will answer all these questions and more on March 27.
