In an Application filed with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO or the “Tribunal”) against HealWELL AI Inc.'s MCI Medical Clinics (the “Respondent”), a former patient (the “Applicant”), alleged discrimination with respect to medical services because of her disability contrary to the Human Rights Code.
On June 13, 2024, by way of a summary hearing, the Tribunal found that there was no connection between the alleged discrimination in the Respondents’ medical service and the Applicant’s Code-enumerated ground. Additionally, many allegations outdated the limitations period as stipulated in section 34(2) of the Code.
