Overview

Fasken provides comprehensive services and industry expertise to companies that must navigate complicated regulatory frameworks while meeting business needs.

Some of the issues we address include easements, rights of way, crossing agreements, agreements to access and operations.

We’ve represented clients organizing extensive pipeline projects through several provinces, corporations establishing energy-related infrastructure including electricity, natural gas, and wind farm operations, and public authorities operating and managing public transit systems and infrastructure.

A lot of the real estate work in this area intersects with other practices at our Firm, such as mergers and acquisitions, First Nations law or environmental law. We work in tandem with our colleagues, providing timely advice and expertise when it fits in with the larger components of client projects.

Fasken’s real estate team is nationally recognized for our expertise in working with major clients in this sphere, such as Rogers Communications, Nalcor Energy and CP Rail. Fasken is ranked as a leading group by respected publications such as Chambers Canada, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers.
